What to do in the event of a claim
Auto Claims
- Call the police if;
- someone is hurt
- you feel the other driver may be guilty of a criminal code offence such as drunk driving
- if there is significant property damage
- your vehicle is not driveable
- Collect information and photos
- Use your phone to take images of Drivers License, Vehicle Ownership and Insurance Card. Make sure names of the driver, owner, insurance company and policy number are readable
- Take pictures of vehicles and damage
- Record date, time and location of the accident
- Contact nearest collision reporting center within 24 hours
- If there are injuries or there is more than $2,000 in combined damage
