The Merit Group is an insurance brokerage formed in 1993 to serve the insurance needs of individuals and businesses in Ontario. We represent many of Canada’s top home, auto and business insurers, such as Aviva, Intact, Economical and Gore. For Life Insurance and Group Health Benefits, we represent a wide variety of companies, including AIG, Canada Life, Empire Life, Foresters, Great West Life, Manulife, Sun Life and Ivari. Although we have had growth through some acquisitions, the majority of our business growth has come through providing prompt and professional service to those that choose to do business with us.

We started out providing home, automobile and business insurance, but have since added life insurance products such as term life, mortgage insurance, group benefits and critical illness insurance. To be able to properly serve customers' needs for such a wide variety of products, we have built our team with individuals that have specialties, so that they can be used as resources for the rest of our team.

We are proud of the fact that some of the original team members are still here today (others have since retired) and we have several team members that have been with us for 20+ years. We enjoy being involved in the community and giving back by being involved with education, youth sports, environmental and community charities.
